Meet Nala Mae
The sweet girl who started it all
Nala Mae was a loving, wild, sweet dog who brought so much joy to our lives and to everyone who met her. She had such a kind spirit and a special way of showing love to everyone she met.
Nala loved the simple things in life — being close to her people, spending time outside, watching out the front window and greeting everyone she met with love. Her presence made our house feel like a home.
She reminded me every day how special dogs are and how much love they bring into our lives.
After losing Nala, I wanted to find a way to honor her life and the love she gave so freely.
Nala's Journey
Nala's life may have been shorter than we ever hoped, but it was filled with love, adventure, and so many special moments. She began her journey in Texas, where she was born, before making a long trip north to Washington in search of her forever home.
When Nala arrived in Washington, her story truly began. From the moment she became part of our life, she filled every day with warmth, companionship, and joy.
Whether it was exploring new places, spending quiet time together, or simply being by our side, Nala had a way of making every moment feel meaningful.
Even though her time here was brief, the love she gave and the memories she created will last a lifetime. Nala's journey — from Texas to Washington and into a loving home — is a reminder of how many incredible dogs are waiting in shelters for the chance to be loved.

Nala's Paw Project was created to honor her life and to help other dogs on their own journeys toward finding a home and the love they deserve.
Nala's story didn't end when she left this world — it continues in every act of kindness given to dogs who are still waiting for their forever homes.
